Behind the Scenes: Our Partnership With Local Grocers

Three days a week, our food rescue van pulls up behind a local grocery store and loads cases of bread, dairy, produce, and meat that are nearing their sell-by dates but are still safe and high-quality. Within hours, those items are on our shelves and in the homes of neighbors.

These partnerships are a win for everyone. Stores divert food from the landfill and reduce disposal costs. Families receive items they might otherwise never see at a pantry: yogurt, fresh berries, bakery bread, even occasional cuts of meat. And our region collectively reduces the climate impact of food waste.
